We are looking for ride marshals as well as riders for the "Go The Distance 4 Autism Ride" on June 3 at Bergen Community College with 4 distances: 3, 10, 25 and 50 miles. Ride Jersey Strong with us in North Jersey’s largest charity cycling event! There is also a midway with a Family Fun Festival with food, music, games, inflatables, activities, informational booths and more. Autism affects many of us, especially in NJ, which has the highest rates of autism in the country, 1 in 45 children. On a personal note, we (Steve Jackson and Betsy Longendorfer) have a 34-year-old son on the autism spectrum who has struggled mightily, so this is a cause near and dear to our hearts. When you ride, you provide direct support for and change the lives of children and families with autism right here in our backyard. To sign up for the ride, go to www.gtd4a.org. To volunteer as a ride marshal, contact Betsy Longendorfer at [email protected] Registration and fee required for riders. Please check ride times on the GTD4A website.Terrain: Rolling 26-45

The Gems of Northern Westchester: Join fellow riders from seven neighboring bicycle clubs for a beautiful day on the bike. Based out of Croton Point Park, the route showcases the best of Northern Westchester, including spectacular views of the Hudson River, historic bridges, marinas, forests, alpacas, and family farms on quiet back roads. Stop for a photo at the architectural marvel that is the New Croton Dam. Enjoy a short stretch on the historic North County Trailway across the Croton Reservoir. Come back to beautiful Croton Point Park for swimming and a picnic lunch. The route features some challenging hills and exhilarating descents. Some roads are in "New York Standard" shape, so ride with caution. The last few miles are downhill. There are two opportunities on the routes for services: Montrose Deli (~mile 19) Yorktown Heights main drag (~mile 32) Parking: $10 in CPP at staging area; $5 at Croton Harmon Station (a short bike ride to the start) https://www.google.com/maps/dir/''/Croton+Harmon+Station/@41.1898163 There is a $5 member contribution (the Club is subsidizing the cost to keep the contribution down) for members to enjoy a simple picnic lunch at the end. When you sign up, please indicate if you will NOT be having lunch, since we need a head count. Detailed, important safety and route information has been added as notes on the map and cue sheet in the RidewithGPS files. Please arrive at least a half-hour before their planned start time to allow time to find the correct pace group. It's Here At Last! Year 3 of the most fun evening ride on the schedule. At 6:00 pm I will offer a 10 minute hands-on session covering one or two bike handling skills, as in prior years. For the first two of these rides in June, I encourage strong B riders to come and learn drafting skills to be able to move up to B* rides. We start this ride spinning at 14.5 mph for the first 4 miles to the climb, ascend at your own pace, regroup at the top and continue. We regroup at or immediately after each traffic light or turn. B* pace on the mostly descending return route. Coexistence with other traffic on the Saddle River Roads will be stressed. Learn how to ride a paceline properly, and improve your group riding skills while enjoying the lovely surroundings on these late spring and summer eve's into Rockland County. •  Thursday Evening Fleeting Affair
Note: Ride will not go in rain or wet roads. Terrain: Rolling 26-45.
