Notes on Leading Rides from the Rides Captain
For the safety and enjoyment of all riders, please correct any unsafe riding behavior you witness on the road - especially riding near or over the yellow line, passing on the right of another rider, and not obeying traffic rules. Riders should ride single file in a group or only go double file if conditions permit. The use of crash helmets is mandatory, front and rear lights are strongly recommended for city riding, and the use of headphones is not allowed. Please be considerate of other riders and other vehicles on the road, stay to the right of the lane, and help everyone enjoy the ride.
If your ride is too large to safely or easily lead, we encourage you to have other leaders on your lead to co-lead a ride to split up large rides into more manageable groups of riders and submit their names when you turn in your sign-in sheet for a leader point!
With the summer heat, please remember to avoid dehydration by drinking lots of water.
The Ride Sign Up sheets are available online in the ride schedule. Sign Up sheets are required for all BTCNJ club rides. Please sign up for rides online in advance so all you have to do is sign the sign in sheet at the start of the ride.
