JEFF KELLEY NAMED “VOLUNTEER OF
THE YEAR” - 2009
Our Volunteer of the Year for 2009 is Jeff Kelley, a longtime member of the club, who is always giving of his time and energy. Jeff is warm, friendly, outgoing, supportive and always ready to step in when needed. All of our volunteers are deserving of recognition, but Jeff is especially so for the many contributions he makes to the club... the Wednesday rides he co-leads with his close friend Shelia Keane have been a club fixture for years. But this is just a small part of Jeff 's numerous contributions over the years. He helps fellow members with repair clinics, offers advice on bikes and equipment, leads New Member rides, leads Mountain Bike rides, and leads "C" and "D" level rides around his community.
Jeff is our Volunteer of the Year because he is readily available to help out when needed. None of these things seem to be too much for Jeff - the guy with the truck and the smile! And then there are his tremendous contributions to the Ramapo Rally. Every year he and his crew take on the huge task of organizing, distributing and hefting the supplies necessary for the functioning of the five to six rest stops and SAG vehicles, making sure the riders are fully supported along their routes. He can be found at Campgaw before dawn and is generally still on site at dusk, ensuring that the site is appropriately closed. And I am sure that I have missed things!
Jeff, we honor your participation in BTCNJ and look forward to continued enthusiasm and support in the years to come. Please accept our thanks for all that you have contributed to make the club function better. Please help us in congratulating Jeff at our January club meeting on Thursday, January 14 at our annual Year in Review presentation.
Well done Jeff !
