Volunteers of the Month (VOTM) - November 2006: Maryann and Jim Vincenti
Something different this month! We're recognizing three terrific new members who've taken it upon themselves to plunge right in to club activities without being asked. Christine Hong first came to our attention at the club Rally in August. The "Energizer Bunny" must have been modeled after her! Christine never sat down all day, slicing watermelon, serving lunch, refilling soda, cleaning up tables, and smiling all the while!! She lent a helping hand wherever she saw one was needed, and we'd like to reward such thoughtfulness and hope she'll continue to volunteer like this for many years to come.
Maryann and Jim Vincenti, also new members, seemed to never say no when asked to help out with the Rally. Maryann baked 17 banana breads, and she and her son and husband, Jim, spent a full day painting arrows and also ran a rest stop. At a recent Dining Club outing, as we learned more about their many volunteering activities, we realized that we had two more terrific honorees. Maryann's enthusiasm is infectious, and when she added that she was interested in putting together a BTCNJ Cookbook, we were thrilled that an idea we have for so long may finally get off the ground. So, how could we not say 'thank you'.
Please join us at the November general meeting on Thursday, November 9th, when we congratulate our new friends.
