Many shops offer BTCNJ members a 10% discount on bicycle parts and accessories and, just as importantly, promote and support bicycling in our area. There shops are staffed and run by cyclists like us ... but, unfortunately, because they have to make a living, they can't get out on the road as much as we do.

But their interest and knowledge is vast. By making sure that we patronize these friends, we are also making sure that they are always there, in their shops, when we need them. Helping us select a new bike, upgrading our favorite touring bike, making some small adjustment or giving a bit of advice ... these experts do things that discount houses and catalogs can never do. So.. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BIKE SHOPS, and tell them you're from BTCNJ.

Many of these shops advertise in the MasterLink throughout the year. In some cases, it is a reminder that they are in your area, supporting bicycling and BTCNJ. Sometimes, it's for special discounts and sales for BTCNJ members. Many stores offer further discounts on repairs, sale or special order items and will negotiate special pricing on bikes and other major purchases. We should look carefully each month to take advantage of these specials.

Please note that the individual shop owners are the ones who have sole discretion over the definition of “accessories and parts” and of the items in their stock to which any BTCNJ-related discount applies.

If your favorite shop isn't listed (BTCNJ requires that the shop display our literature and offer a 10% discount), ask them if they are interested.
