The Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey (BTCNJ)
was established in 1978 and is a non-profit, all-volunteer
bicycling club dedicated to promoting bicycling for recreation
and transportation. We are the largest touring club in New
Jersey with more than 1,300 members in approximately 1,000 households.
Our club rides schedule is one of the most active in the country, offering
approximately 1,000 rides each year. Our year-round schedule of recreational
rides for all cycling abilities is published in the MasterLink,
issued monthly to our members, as well as on the rides
pages of this website.
In addition to our many weekly club rides, we offer weekend
(and longer) tours, led by club volunteers, as well our largest
cycling event - the Ramapo Rally. When the weather
changes, you'll find many of our members trade in their wheels
for hiking boots and skis, although for insurance reasons
BTCNJ can no longer sponsor non-cycling activities. Club members
also receive a discount on merchandise purchased at many participating
bike shops.
BTCNJ holds a monthly club meeting at
the Ridgewood, NJ Public Library, 125 North Maple Avenue,
Ridgewood, NJ, (201) 670-5600, on the second Thursday of each
month, at 7:30 PM. The meeting consists of a short session
of club business followed by a one-hour cycling-related program,
after which refreshments are served.
We welcome new members. Memberships run for one, two or three
years, effective from the date you join and include 12, 24
or 36 copies of the MasterLink.
